Love Story with an Unexpected Twist!

I havr admired Mrs. Hodge's writing for a while now. She is a lyrical writer with great sensitivity and deep feelings for her characters, their story, and I would say the world she lives in. Anne-Marie, voluptuous, sexy and smart, was raised by a single mother. She is considered far from good enough to marry the boy she adores, Damon Williams. The son of a leading church minister, his parents make him swear to give up Anne-Marie before he goes to college. Anne-Marie is heartbroken and moves away/
Fast forward to later years when Damon has taken over as senior minister of his father's church. Now we find that Anne-Marie is a successful women's boutique owner. They still romp with their romantic fires blazing. He loves his pregnant, beautiful sociite wife. but feels he cannot do without his lover. Quite a story here and told in alternating characters fashion which I found fascinating. I love the way this story is resolved, and I didn't think it could be resolved to my satisfaction. I found myself pulling hard for Anne-Marie to find happiness,and in the end I feel the author gives a world of hope that Anne-Marie may very well have in her sights the very other man who will prove good enough and loving enough for her.
One hallmark of Theresa's writing is her deceptive simplicity. This is one quality many experts feel that excellent writing must have, and she truly has it. I feel that she is on her way to the top, thrilling and entertaining us all as she rises. Happy journney Theresa/

Three is a crowd!

One simple word can sum up my feelings about this story....WOW! I am a real fan of Ms. Hodge and she did not dissappoint with her newest book. The tale of three people caught up in a love triangle that only two of them are aware of. Pastor Damon is a man of the church. To the ouside world, he has it all together--a beautiful wife, a thriving church, and a baby on the way. But what the congregation doesn't know is that he has been carrying on an illicit affair with his high school sweetheart, Anne Marie. Even though they broke up before Damon left for college(due to meddling parents) they have never been able to get over one another. And when Anne Marie moves back to town years later, their relationship is renewed. But now Damon is stuck. In love with his wife Nancy, he doesn't want to lose what they have. But he can't bring himself to lose Anne Marie either. When tragedy strikes things go from bad to worse. No matter which way this plays out, someone is going to end up with a broken heart.
I was very happy with this story. The part that hit me the deepest was the dream Damon had about his two women. After reading that, I was just floored. It was so vivid and said so much about his situation. I gotta say, I am pulling for Nancy. She was such a kind person. But Anne Marie and Damon get the serious side eye. Part of me hopes that Nancy leaves him and he loses out on them both. I can't wait for part two!! Great job Angel!

Whoa crazy

What a read. Damon is such a sorry excuse for a man. Couldn't stand up to his parents when he was coming into adulthood and still can't as a grown man. You play with fire you get burned. You try to play Good and you lose every time, unfortunately his wife and unborn child are paying for his recklessness. Anne Marie should have showed more self control. Damon was married that should have been enough for her to stay away.
